Hey guys! An awesome last minute improv workshop opportunity has just dropped into our lap and we're trying to see if we can pull it off. It'ts in the form of a Musical Improv workshop taught TOMORROW (Sat, Jan 31st) by the creative comedic cast of ImprovBoston!
When: 1pm to 3pm (this is the time, but if starting 30 min early turns it from un-doable to doable, let me know)
Where: Within two blocks of Red Road (SW 57 Ave) and Sunset Drive (SW 72nd Str), near Sunset Place
Cost: $75 (this is the reduced rate for this workshop since they're coming just for the workshop)
I've taken this workshop before and I've seen this team perform at the various festivals I've been too, including their own, and they have magnificent talent. I know that many of you are improv'd out after the festival, but trust me that this is a workshop you don't wanna miss!
Blending skillful storytelling, memorable music, audience participation, and joyful chaos, Boston's best improvisers create a show that redefines itself with every performance. Hailed by the Boston Globe as "Comedy Masters," ImprovBoston is certainly no stranger to Florida. Having performed sold out shows in the Sarasota Improv Festival since it's inception, this hilarious troupe returns to turn up the music and the laughs. The workshop will be lead by ImprovBoston's Artistic Director Mike Descoteaux, with members of IB's Mainstage TourCo.
Descoteaux previous credits include Musical Director of the off-Broadway show, Blank the Musical. He took over the role of Artistic Director from FST's current Director of Improvisation, Will Luera.
Founded in 1982, by Ellen Holbrook, a former student of Chicago's famed Second City, ImprovBoston is an artistic fixture in the local Boston theatre scene. With over 20 shows per week, and an annual enrollment of nearly 2000 students in their Comedy School, ImprovBoston is New England's biggest comedy theater and training ground.
The workshop is from 1pm to 3pm tomorrow (Sat, Jan 31st). Because this is a last-minute add-on, they are offering this musical workshop at only $75 per person. Text Carlos Rivera at 305.401.0042 if you are absolutely interested; make sure to include your name in your text. We need to hear from you sometime today (Friday, Jan. 30th) in order to confirm the headcount.
